Green Bottle Sliding Scale Guide

Our services are free for Black families who are low-income, receiving OW or ODSP, newcomers to Canada, or navigating refugee or precarious immigration status.

A sliding scale is available for all other Black families.

Full Birth Doula Support

Includes 1 prenatal session, on-call labour and birth support, and regular check-ins until 6 weeks postpartum.

Bottle 1 – $1200

Bottle 2 – $1000

Prenatal Doula Support

Meetings typically range from one to two hours. Designed for people who aren’t accessing birth support and just want prenatal support.

Bottle 1 – $100 / session

Bottle 2 – $80 / session

Bottle 3 – $60 / session

Bottle 4 – $40 / session

Postpartum Doula Support

Our phone and video Postpartum check-ins typically range from thirty minutes to one hour.

Bottle 1 – $50 / session

Infant Feeding Support

Compassionate and non-judgemental support you as you navigate the highs and lows of infant feeding.

Bottle 1 – $100 / session

Systems Navigation Support

Navigating health care systems and the many programs offered by community and non-profit organizations can feel overwhelming, especially when you are on a reproductive or family-building journey. Systems navigation support is about helping you understand your options and access the care and resources that best meet your needs.

Systems navigation support with Rooted Birthwork Collective is cost-supported. There is no need to pay for these services.

The Green Bottle Method Explained

We use the green bottle framework developed by community healing practitioner Alexis J. Cunningfolk to price our services equitably.

We encourage all community members to to choose the bottle that best matches your financial reality — no explanation needed.

Bottle 1:

I’m comfortably able to meet all my basic needs*.
I may have some debt but can meet basic needs.
I own my home or another property.
I own a car.
I’m employed or don’t need to work.
I have regular access to healthcare.
I have financial savings.
I have investments.
I have an expendable income **.
I can always afford to buy new items.
I can afford to travel for pleasure and take time off for rest/recreation.
